Custom Software Application: Our
local school system needed a way to track their vehicle use.
What made this application unique was their method of tracking.
TECMINN created an application that would
allow them to continue to track their vehicles using their
present method but enable them to create accurate reports based
on dates, vehicle identification, fuel consumption and purchase,
activity names, person/department requesting the vehicle AND
take into account that none of the transportation personnel knew
how to use a computer.An interface was created that allowed users to easily enter and store data into a database. For security the application was password protected to limit access to those authorized to use it. The entire application was documented and the appropriate personnel trained on how to use their new software. After the project was created, tested and implemented the Superintendent commented: "We have tried for years to bring all this data together - finally, somebody figured out how to do it!" |

Custom Technology Solution: A client needed a website for use in two different mediums. One site for the Internet and one site stored on a CD-Rom for use in municipal and industry facilities. After doing some research, it was discovered that many industrial and municipal facilities do not allow Internet access. Taking this into account TECMINN developed a method to update the information quickly for both mediums and eliminated 80% of update redundancy. Data also had to be saved and distributed in three different formats - DOC, PDF and HTML. One 'master template' was created for each duplicate page. Only the master needs to be updated and the changes ripple down. Using the lowest common denominator a CD-Rom was created to auto-run on most computers and allow a user to access the information needed without an Internet connection.
